Painted in the mid 19th century by master artist Auguste Dircks the image of this entire family dancing to the music of a fiddle against the warm glow of their fireplace will tug on anyones heart string. The painting has been carefully restored, leaving some damage visible so as not to distort the beauty of the work by over manipulation.
