The Scottish Terrier is frequently called "the Scottie" is actually an Aberdeen Terrier one of the highland breeds of terriers grouped under the name Skye Terrier originated in Scotland. It is an independent dog with a rugged wiry coat. Small compact and short to the ground these dogs are sporty and need long walks. These dogs have lived in with noteable people, Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR), Dwight D. Eisenhower, George W. Bush, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Queen Victoria, Eva Braun, Lech Kaczynski (the President of Poland), Ed Whitfield and artist Rudyard Kipling.
