"The Scream" by Edvard Munch Poster

This is a quality reporduction of "The Scream" by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. Munch created several versions of 'The Scream.' The Munch Museum holds one of two painted versions and one pastel. The National Gallery of Norway holds the other painted version. A fourth version, in pastel, is owned by a Norwegian businessman. Munch also created a lithograph of the image in 1895. This famous version of "The Scream" was created in 1893 by Edvard Munch. It is oil, tempera, and pastel on cardboard and is in the collection of the National Gallery in Oslo, Norway. In 1994, this version was stolen from the National Gallery of Norway It was recovered several months later. In 2004, both 'The Scream' and 'Madonna' were stolen from the Munch Museum. Both paintings were recovered in 2006. They had sustained some damage and went back on display in May 2008, after undergoing restoration.
