The Shroud of Bozo Poster
I'm interested in fine art, history, and grew up on MAD Magazine and kid's television, so it was inevitable that I would paint The Shroud of Bozo. The original was on linen the same size as the real Shroud (thanks for the article of useful information, National Geographic Magazine) and was one of three giant pieces I did for a gallery show on Melrose back when it was hip. I used an airbrush for the ghosty look and hand-sewed the clown-like patches -- the real deal was patched after it was singed in a fire. There is more to this piece -- the backside. Unfortunately I sold the painting to someone who displayed it in full sun, and the patches faded. Lucky a good photographer got this image for me before that happened.
