The Starry Night by Van Gogh Lumbar Cushion

An oil painting by the Dutch master Vincent Van Gogh(1853-1890) Probably his most famous painting,Van Gogh painted 'The Starry Night' in 1889 from memory while in an asylum in France where he checked himself in for depression.The scene depicts the view from his bedroom window. In the painting there is the moon,Venus and many stars surrounded by swirls of yellow and white light.At the bottom there is a church with a tall steeple around which lies a small village with blue and black mountains in the distance.At the foreground is a cypress tree which goes from the top to the bottom of the painting.
