The Waterfall (c. 1898) by J. H. Twachtman is a vintage American West impressionism fine art nature wilderness painting. Water is cascading over the rocks coming down from the melting snow runoff on the mountain. A river with a gentle waterfall.
About the artist:
John Henry Twachtman (1853-1902) was an American painter best known for his impressionist landscapes, though his painting style varied widely through his career. Art historians consider Twachtman's style of American Impressionism to be among the more personal and experimental of his generation.
