Titanic's Near Miss Poster

Here's one of those great "what-if" moments in maritime history. As Titanic left port the suction from her three propellers pulled the SS City of New York to her. The two liners came within feet of a collision. The st eam tug you see in the foreground is what kept them apart. Can you imagine what could have happened if a minor collision kept Titanic in port for a few days? This is a old newspaper photograph of that near miss. It need a lot of restoration and enhancement to bring out any detail at all. If you saw the horrible original you'd be able to note the striking different between the two versions. Nevertheless, this photo will not be crystal as most of my restorations are. But you can see the ships and even the people on them. I think the effort was worth it for this very rare historical photo.
