This beautiful gift magnet for cat lovers and admirers of Art Nouveau features the famous French cabaret venue Le Chat Noir, opened in 1881at 84 Boulevard Rochechouart in the Montmartre district of the city of Paris by the artist Rodolphe Salis. The nightclub closed in 1897 following the death of Salis but entered the hall of fame with the now famous Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen poster showing a black cat with magnificent whiskers and hypnotic yellow eyes. The poster, created by Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter Steinlen in 1896 advertises a forthcoming tour to other cities by the Le Chat Noir's cabaret artists.
