Toyama-Umebachi/Ume-mon/This name is based on "Mon Diten" and "Japanese Crests". Note that "Heian Monkan" refers to it as 'Toyama Maeda family Umebachi', "Mon no Izumi" and "Comprehensive Collection of Crests" as 'Kaga Hanaken Umebachi', and "Edo Crest Collection" as 'Flower-shaped Kaga Umebachi'./The Maeda family in Kanazawa has a sword-like shape, while the Maeda family in Toyama has a clove-like shape, and the Maeda family in Daishoji has a melon-like shape... (from "Japanese Crest Studies" by Yoriyoshi Numata)/In my opinion, the ones referred to as 'Hanaken' are likely because the tip of the sword has a shape resembling a Tang flower./The design in "Mon no Kokorozashi" differs from this, with the petals and stamens connected.
