Uesugi Kenshin Dragon of Echigo Calligraphy Art Poster

上杉謙信: Uesugi Kenshin, he was a daimyo who was born as Nagao Kagetora, and after the adoption into the Uesugi clan, ruled Echigo Province in the Sengoku period of Japan. Kenshin is famed for his honourable conduct, his military expertise, a long-standing rivalry with Takeda Shingen, and his belief in the Buddhist god of war - Bishamonten. In fact, many of his followers and others believed him to be the Avatar of Bishamonten, and called Kenshin "God of War". 越後の龍: "The Dragon of Echigo" is the nickname given to Uesugin Kenshin because of his fearsome skills in the martial arts displayed on the battlefield, while his rival Takeda Shingen was called "The Tiger of Kai". In Eastern mythology, the Dragon and Tiger have always been bitter rivals who try to defeat one another, but neither is ever able to gain the upper hand, these name is referring to the war between them at Kawanakajima, where both of them fought multiple time but unable to defeat each other. 刀八毘沙門: Eight Sword Bishamon, Bishamonten is the name of one of the Four Heavenly Kings, and is considered an important figure in Japanese Buddhism. Eight Sword Bishamonten is one of the form of Bishamonten in Japan, holding eight sword in each of His hand. These word is used on the flag of Uesugi Kenshin in Battle. In the background is the kamon (family crest) of Uesugi, Uesugi Sasa (上杉笹) or "Uesugi Bamboo", and kenshin flag, Ryu (龍, dragon) and Bi (毘, Bishamonten), at the bottom is the samurai signature of Kenshin.

I originally ordered this print in a larger size but was not pleased with the clarity of it. When I contacted Zazzle, they responded really quickly and were very helpful. I was able to reorder the print in a smaller size and it was shipped to me within a couple of weeks. The print was packaged well to ensure there was no damage during transit (Eco friendly, too!), and I am really pleased with it. I am so grateful to the customer service team for the professional way they handled my order. I had this printed on matt finish card and I was really pleased with the quality. The colours were rich and the image sharp.
