Title：春の雪（京都清水）[ haru no yuki (kyoto kiyomizu) / はる の ゆき（きょうと きよみず） / Spring Snow, Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto] Kiyomizu-dera Temple, located halfway up Otowa Mountain in Kyoto, has a history of about 1200 years. The building in the foreground is the 13-metre high Kiyomizu-dera stage, assembled in the batten structure (kakezukuri). Not a single nail is used. Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
