Union Square in Spring (1896) by Childe Hassam is a vintage impressionism fine art landscape painting. An aerial view of Union Square in New York City. In the foreground is the gabled roof of the small public comfort station inside the park. In the centre are patches of green grass, gardens and lawns with trees starting to bloom. Across Union Square are the buildings on 14th Street.
About the artist:
Frederick Childe Hassam (1859-1935) was a prominent and prolific American Impressionist painter, noted for his urban and coastal scenes. Hassam was instrumental in promulgating Impressionism to American collectors, dealers, and the museums.
