A beautifully decorated Christmas tree reaches to the ornate and colourful ceiling of Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri. Opened in 1914, Union Station serves Kansas City, Missouri, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Closed for years, but it was restored, reopening in 1999 as a series of museums and other public attractions. In 2002, Union Station saw its return as a train station when Amtrak began providing public transportation services and has since become Missouri's second-busiest train station. It is celebrating its centennial with is tradition of offering a variety of activities and displays for the public.
