How to navigate conversations with others is a tough experience these days. Just because someone —or news media, a government official, a teacher, or even an “expert” — says something doesn’t mean it is actually true. It is right to question, politely, where the information came from. Even better to listen and research all sides of an issue and seek out what is actually true. Too often we learn that it isn’t, or there’s a sliver of truth but much more added to make the story jucier. Let’s stick with reality. It stays the same no matter where the story goes. Truth isn’t how we feel about something, it’s proveable.
