"Vampire" was created in 1893–94 by the Norwegian Symbolist painter Edvard Munch, who also painted "The Scream." The UK's newspaper "The Independant" calls this painting "One of the most sensational and shocking images in European art" and "too degenerate for the Nazis." Before being auctioned off by Sotheby's for over 30 million dollars, it was in the hands of a private collector.
