Portrait of the Art Dealer Alexander Reid by Vincent van Gogh is a vintage fine art post impressionism daily life portrait painting featuring an man. Alexander Reid was an influential Glasgow art dealer. In the 1880s he left Scotland to work in Paris for the art house of Boussod & Valadon. One of his colleagues there was Theo van Gogh, art dealer and brother of the artist Vincent van Gogh. Reid became friendly with both brothers. About the artist: Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Post Impressionist painter whose work was most noteable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty, and bold colour.
