Van Gogh Vase with Pink Roses Flowers Painting Jigsaw Puzzle

Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853 - 1890) Vase with Pink Roses, 1890, Oil on canvas, 71 cm x 90 cm. Painted in the psychiatric hospital at Saint-Remy, before Van Gogh was set to check out. The painting reflects the optimism he had for his future, both in his choice of colour and the flowers he chose to paint. That sense is given by the fresh green of the background, which give a feeling of spring. The diagonal strokes seem to animate the canvas and play off of flowers and leaves. Though the roses appear more white now, the original colour was pink which you can still faintly see providing a complimentary contrast to the green background.
