This design features a pattern designed by William Morris (1834–1896). It is heavily influenced by the art of Venice in Italy, and it contains an intricate pattern of flowers and leaves. There is a beautiful contrast between the two colours used, blue and white. This pattern was digitised from original wallpaper held by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
