Victorian Sherwin Floral Transferware Repro Tile

Transferware tiles were originally produced using a decorative technique that was developed in England in the mid-1700s. Although transferware designs were sometimes filled in with colour glazes by hand, the design was first fired onto the tile, which made decorative tiles and other items printed using this method more affordable than labour-intensive and more costly hand-painted tiles.
