VICTORIAN STAMP MILL for GOLD MINING Poster

This Chicago Iron Works portable stamp mill was used near Murray, Idaho during the Victorian era to extract gold, silver and copper from ore mined in the north Idaho Silver Valley region. A belt drive operates a cam shaft that moves pulverizers up and down that crushed the ore. Most Stamp Mills are huge and part of a large ore processing facility. It must have been quite a luxury for miners to process a day's diggings right on site.
