Over Labour Day Weekend in 2017, we went exploring at Shores Acres State Park on the Oregon coast near Coos Bay. There is an amazing lookout at the Simpson Reef Overlook where you can see & hear the seals & sea lions spread out on the reef & islands. The Simpson Reef includes Shell Island, & it is a protected wildlife refuge area. There were wildfires burning in Southern Oregon which made the skies smoky along the coast, but the views were still beautiful!
