Vincent van Gogh - A Walk at Twilight Notebook

A Walk at Twilight / Landscape with Couple Walking and Crescent Moon / Moonlit Landscape / Couple Walking among Olive Trees in a Mountainous Landscape with Crescent Moon, painted in 1890 in oil on canvas by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. A couple walks through a landscape of olive trees and cypresses beneath the moon, with the Alpilles rising behind them. The motif combines several subjects Van Gogh repeatedly explored at Saint-Rémy, but here they are brought together in an unusually calm, intimate scene. The linked figures and winding landscape create a wistful image of companionship within the Provençal countryside.
