About This Design

Vincent van Gogh - Garden at Arles Tile

Vincent van Gogh - Garden at Arles Tile

Garden at Arles / Flowering Garden with Path (Jardin à Arles), painted in 1888 in oil on canvas by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Arles. A path cuts through a garden packed with flowers and greenery beneath the brilliant southern light. Van Gogh built the surface from small strokes of pure colour, turning the planted beds into a rhythmic pattern rather than a conventional illusion of depth. He made more than one version of the garden in July, testing how the same subject changed with composition and colour.

My fiancé and I were happy when we received the tile. It’s Peru and was worth paying extra for expressing postage. Good quality and it is exactly like we wanted it. We are very pleased.
