About This Design

Vincent van Gogh - Wheatfield with a Reaper Tile

Wheatfield with a Reaper / Wheat Fields with Reaper at Sunrise, painted in 1889 in oil on canvas by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Van Gogh painted the enclosed wheatfield visible from his Saint-Rémy room as the sun rose over the landscape. A small reaper bends to his work in the brilliant yellow field, surrounded by radiating strokes of light and heat. Van Gogh explicitly connected the reaper with human mortality, but he stressed that the image was not gloomy because everything took place beneath a sun flooding the scene with golden light.

My fiancé and I were happy when we received the tile. It’s Peru and was worth paying extra for expressing postage. Good quality and it is exactly like we wanted it. We are very pleased.
