A vintage illustration by Clara M. Burd featuring three children helping with the chores by raking autumn leaves into a pile to be burned. The American artist, Clara M. Burd (1873-1933) was born in New York, and studied art in New York City and later in Paris. She is best known for her illustrations for children’s books, but she also illustrated for magazine covers, designed stained glass and murals for churches, and painted children’s portraits and scenes from historical periods.
