Vintage - Fashionable 1920s Lady in Black,

A vintage illustration by Sergio Bompard features a beautiful young woman dressed to the nines in the fashion of the day, which would have been in the World War I era. She's out for a walk on a windy day, and leaves are blowing all around her. She wears an entirely black ensemble which includes a black muff for her hands, black dress, black stockings and shoes, and a stole around her shoulders that's flapping in the wind. She has a large-brimmed hat which she's having trouble holding down on her head on the windy day. The Italian artist, Sergio Bompard, is a mystery as far as his life. Little is known about him and little is published online about him except that he was a prolific artist who specialised in illustrations for magazines and postcards during the World War I era. His subject matter was primarily beautiful women of the time, however, he also painted romantic couples, art deco style illustrations of women in the latest fashions (often with greyhound dogs), as well as children.
