Vintage - Halloween Mirror's Magic Spell, Card

A vintage Halloween card image features a humourous verse and image from a Halloween tradition of the Victorian era called mirror divination. The Victorians believed that if a single woman held a candle light in front of a mirror at midnight on Halloween, the image of her future husband and true love would appear. This card takes that in a humourous direction...the woman sees an ugly man's face in the mirror and is shocked. The verse on the front of the card says, "She believed in the mirror's magic spell, that of her future husband would tell. He must be tall, and good lineage trace - but how could he, with such a face." At the bottom of the front, it says "Halloween Greeting." The message inside the card: "Have a spell-binding Halloween."
