A vintage illustration by Clara M. Burd from the children's nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb." It features a young girl, Mary, carrying a book and walking down a pathway through a gate, with her little lamb alongside her. As the rhyme says, Mary's little lamb went everywhere that Mary went. The American artist, Clara M. Burd (1873-1933) was born in New York, and studied art in New York City and later in Paris. She is best known for her illustrations for children’s books, but she also illustrated for magazine covers, designed stained glass and murals for churches, and painted children’s portraits and scenes from historical periods. This card is blank inside for your own message.
