Vintage Mignon - French Opera,

A vintage tinted French postcard depicting the role of Mignon in the opera comique titled "Migon." She is dressed as a gypsy playing a lute. The French opera was originally performed in France in 1866, and by May, 1919 had over 1,500 well-received performances. The story is based on a book by Goethe. The opera was translated into other languages and was also performed in Germany, Italy, England and the United States. Card is blank inside for your handwritten message.
