Piegans (1918) by CM Russell is a vintage fine art American West portrait painting. Native American Indians riding wild horses on the prairie in the southwest. The horizon has the sun either at sunset or sunrise. The Piegan (also Pikuni, Pikani, and Piikáni) are one of the three original tribes of the Blackfoot Confederacy.
About the artist:
Charles Marion Russell (1864-1926) created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the frontier of the old Western United States of America.
