From our posters with the same name. From a 1900s postcard, restored, retouched and scanned at the highest resolution (up to high sizes), of the Père Lachaise entry at the Rue Gambetta side. Père Lachaise Cemetery (French: Cimetière du Père-Lachaise) is the largest cemetery in the city of Paris (44 hectares or 110 acres), though there are larger cemeteries in the city's suburbs. Père Lachaise is in the 20th arrondissement and is noteable for being the first garden cemetery, as well as the first municipal cemetery. Many famous artists, authors, composers, philisophers,... are buried here and the cemetery attracts even today many people from around the world.
