Vintage Suffragette Cat, Card

A vintage tinted photograph of a cat dressed as a participant in the Women's Suffrage movement in the United States during the early 1900s which resulted in the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920 giving women equal rights to vote. The cat wears a button saying "Votes for Women" and holds a sign saying "We Demand the Vote." A caption under the photo says, "An Advokate for Women's Rights." American photographer Harry Whittier Frees (1879-1953) was famous for dressing animals in clothing and posing them in human situations then photographing them. Some of his photos had captions, but most did not. This card is blank inside for your own message.
