The Plains Herder (aka Shepherd of the Plains) (1908) by NC Wyeth is a vintage fine art American West portrait painting. Smoke is trailing up from the fire into the dark night sky over the prairie. A cowboy sitting is by the camp fire with his loyal pet dog. About the artist: Newell Convers Wyeth (1882-1945), aka N.C. Wyeth, was an American artist and illustrator. He became one of America's greatest American West illustrators.
