Violets and Basket of Eggs Poster

Add some colour to your walls with Abuela Raquel's Violets and Basket of Eggs. This was the most challenging still life Raquel painted -- with the varied textures of the basket and wood, as well as the fluidity of the egg. The flowers on the left side are violets - one of her favourite flowers - which she had picked from her garden. Raquel went through six eggs to make this painting, because she wanted it to have a very realistic look. The wood came out so well by mistake-- she was trying to erase her initial work on the cutting board, and the result looked even better. Sometimes, what seems like a mistake can lead to something better!
