This design features a painting by the Finnish artist Edelfelt Albert (1854–1905), who was particularly noted for his naturalistic style and Realist approach to art. It shows the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, sitting peacefully in the portico colonnade of a rose garden. There is a golden halo behind Mary's head, symbolising her religiosity and virtuousness. Red roses are in bloom behind her. The original painting was completed in 1898.
