Watercolor Gargoyle of Notre Dame

This watercolor painting was inspired from a photo I took while climbing to the top of the bell tower of Notre Dame in Paris, France. The climb to the top begins in a narrow, spiral staircase made of stone. After 422 steps you reach the top where you see an expansive view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower far in the distance. Along the way you come across many gargoyles (or more accurately ‘Chimera’s). This specific gargoyle looking out at Paris is called the ‘spitting gargoyle’.
