Watercolor water lily pad coffee mug

This was one of my first watercolor paintings bigger than a greeting card size. Mixing different shades of greens was tricky but I'm happy with the variety of greens. I used one of my photos taken at Hughes Water Gardens in Tualatin, Oregon, as the reference. If you get a chance to visit that area, it's a very cool nursery with unusual plants and giant lily pads in one of the greenhouses.
