Watkins Falls Poster

The North Umpqua River drainage is abundant with waterfalls. Watson Creek hurtles over a huge cathedral-like cliff into a massive amphitheatre, then cascades down through mossy rocks. At the base of the falls is a nice bench to rest on after the steep but short climb from the road. During the spring melt, the falls are much more turbulent in the spring, when spray is ejected hundreds of feet into the air. Then, later in the summer, the creek becomes much calmer and the falls get blown around in the wind.
