WCAK Radio, Catlettsburg KY Coffee Mug

A tribute to the long-gone WCAK FM 92.7 in Catlettsburg, KY. Founded in 1972 by Hal Murphy, this low-power (3kW) mono FM station boasted a wide array of talent that would go on from this - the tiniest of the 13 area radio stations. Never a ratings darling, WCAK disappeared in 1986. WCAK's home, the Catlettsburg National Bank building, was demolished in 2014 - having stood by the banks of the Ohio river since 1885.
