"West 'By God" Virginia"... the origin of this phrase is unclear. Some think it came about just after West Virginia became a separate state, just to let outsiders know that it wasn't simply the western part of Virginia anymore. At any rate, it's become an expression of pride among natives of the Mountain State. We designed this shirt for the proud, independent people of West Virginia to wear as a badge of honour!
