William Blake- Christ Tempted by Satan Postcard

This Symbolism illustration masterpiece titled, Christ Tempted by Satan to Turn the Stones to Bread is made by the famous painter, William Blake using pen, wash, ink, watercolor on paper in 1819. Blake started engraving copies of drawings of Greek antiquities purchased for him by his father, a practice that was preferred to actual drawing. Within these drawings Blake found his first exposure to classical forms through the work of Raphael, Michelangelo, Marten Heemskerk and Albrecht Dürer.
