William Morris Cray Wallpaper Pattern Long Apron

The Cray design is one of William Morris's classic wallpapers from the 1800s. It is detailed in rich blues and reds. It was designed in 1884 and was one of the more popular wallpapers that hung in Victorian homes. William Morris was England's most famous nineteenth century textile designer. Morris' wallpapers showed his love of nature, which was the focus of all of his designs, and was a member of the arts and crafts movement. The apron is very well made, good material and should wear well with washing. The only fault in the design is the colour. The lion shield of Scotland and the shield on the banner should be a yellow background, not orange. The yellow is the heraldic metal of gold (or). But I'll live with that! The printing is o.k. except for the incorrect colour as mentioned [previously.
