Winter Fairy Guardian of Dreams Tea Towel

In this painting, I wanted to explore the fairy role of protector during the hibernation time - particularly January when it is freezing cold and the light days are short. I chose the hedgehog because it is one of my most favourite visitors to the garden and it's colours and textures are beautiful when contrasted with the crispy autumn leaves. Dreaming is a state that is known to be a place where spirits can communicate with you. Fairy mythology shows that fairies can take a guardianship role, whether it be to a tree, flower, or being. Elementals will stay close to their wards during hibernation.
