Without Company in Hornby - Impressionist Painting Bone China Mug

This mug comes from a painting called 'Without Company in Hornby / Zonder Gezelschap in Hornby', which was made exclusively for Bertie & Groves'. You can be rest assured that you wouldn't find a mug with this painting in any museum in Europe or Canada, and that it is only being sold on our Zazzle store. When I first saw this painting, I was touched by it because it is an intimate encounter with nature and its elements of earth, water and fire (sunlight). It reminded me of my walk by a pebble beach on Hornby Island on Canada's West Coast where nature is plenty, but human company can often be scarce. Hornby Island is a place where several artists work, inspired by its pristine beauty, and this painting takes us back in time where it is nature that rules, whilst humans follow. The impressionist style of this painting, and its brush-strokes, capture the emotion that the untouched nature of Canada's West Coast stirs in us.
