This design features a painting by the French artist Suzanne Valadon (1865–1938). It shows a confident curvy woman reclining on a sofa; she is smoking and looks self-assured. There are books beside her, a symbol of her intellecutal interests. The model can be seen as a feminist icon. The work uses strong colours and makes use of decorative backgrounds and patterned materials. The original painting was completed in 1923 and its French title is "La chambre bleue" [The Blue Bedroom].
