Woman Sunbathing on the Beach at Portici Tile
This design features a painting by the Spanish artist Marià Fortuny (1838–1874). It shows a woman lying on the beach as she relaxes and sunbathes. The setting is a beach near the Italian city of Portici. The woman is enjoying feeling the warm sun against her bare body. She is resting on her arms, and her legs are gently crossed with the sole of her left foot raised towards the viewer. The original artwork was painted in 1874, and it is now housed in the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain.
