Woolf Love Quote Valentine Card ... I’M NEVER NOT THINKING OF YOU! Quote from Adeline Virginia Stephen Woolf (25 Jan 1882 - 28 Mar 1941) ... British writer ... most noteable between WWI and WWII. Ahead of her time, intellectual, she married Leonard Woolf, a Jew, who, she later said, "has more religion in one toenail - more human love in one hair" than any Christian! She denunciated Christianity as 'self-righteous egotism'. She had lesbian affairs ... most notably a decade long one with Vita Sackville-West (also, a British author). Virginia Woolf was a well known British author (Bloomsbury Group), intellectual, out-spoken feminist, and boldly lesbian decades ahead of her time. At age 59 she died by suicide drowning in the Sussex River Ouse. When Virginia was age 20 1/2 her father had photographer George Charles Beresford (10 Jul 1864 - 21 Feb 1938) come take several platinum print photographs of himself and his two daughters in July 1902 ... it is believed 14 were taken of Virginia at that time. The sisters were frequent models for artists of their time. The image I drew from in my hand illustration class comes from one of the July 1902 Beresford platinotypes of Virgina one copy of which (6" x 4 1/4") is still existing. My own 2004 ink drawing.
