Wounded Notebook
The suffering of Jesus on the cross is both beautiful and horrible. It is the horrible result of our sin, but also the most beautiful act of love ever freely given. This image quotes a portion of the verse Isaiah 53:5 - the whole verse is as follows: "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed."
