About This Design
Wrights' Flying Machine Asphalt T-Shirt
Flying machines' flight control method - invention of Orville and Wilbur, Wright brothers, dated back to march 1903 (patent granted 1906). Thanks to it, it became possible to control the flight of a heavier than air machine. Wright bros. were the first to use steering surfaces with an angle regulated by the pilot. This discovery was the outcome of a series of experiments conducted on several gliders. Having the steering method solved Wright bros. focused on developing engine powered flying machines. As soon as nine months later, they made history's first flight with "Flyer I" motor plane.
The T-shirt is a part of the Breakthrough invention collection created to commemorate key discoveries of science and technology. It presents a drawing from the original patent application.
