Wyspianski, Maternity, 1902 Magnet

Stanislaw Wyspianski (1869 - 1907) was one of Poland's great figures at the turn of the century. An accomplished playwright, poet, and artist, Wyspianski died much too young at the age of 38. Macierzynstwo (1902), usually translated as Maternity, sometimes as Motherhood, features a young mother nursing her baby. Considered one of Wyspianski's greatest works, it has appeared on Polish coins and postage.
